Travel Info -Transportation and Parking

To/From Airport:

The convention is being held at the Marriott Marquis at the San Diego Marina.

333 West Harbor Dr.

This is an approx. 7-10 minute drive from the airport, straight down the road from the airport, along the waterfront.

In addition to ride share options (which may be the cheapest and simplest), you can take a bus (there is one that leaves every 15 mins and every half hour on most days). The bus ride will take approx 25 mins of travel time and will involve both walking to the bus area of the airport and an approximately half mile walk from the bus stop at Broadway and Front st. to the hotel.

Taxis may be more expensive than rideshare options like Uber and Lyft. Follow signs for pickup locations after getting your luggage.

Parking:

Parking at the Marriott: If you are a guest there is a discounted rate of $30 (be sure to mention at check-in)

If you are coming in for the day to attend events, you park at the Convention Center parking lot (access is the same area as hotel self parking, just a different lane). Rates vary by day but are likely $15-$30 depending on activities downtown.

The hotel and convention center parking lot is to the left as you turn towards the hotel. It goes in front of the waterfall/fountain area before you go up the hill to the valet area and traffic circle at the top where the hotel entrance is. As soon as you turn, look left and turn towards the parking garage and take one of the two lanes shown here.

If you go up the hill to the hotel entrance, you can still come back down the hill and then turn right to get to the same entrances.

There is some street parking in the Gaslamp area, often with meters (most take credit cards). Metered spots are free on Sunday and designated holidays.  Otherwise, there are lots and underground parking garages that vary from $10-$40 a day.

Free Shuttle Downtown: FRED (Free Ride Everywhere Downtown): request by app or flag down one that you see www.ridecircuit.com/fred (note the app requires you sign up for their free system and when I tried it, the login failed to give me a text prompt so this is not a guarantee that the app will function for you although when I emailed their support they claim it fails for only a small number of people–but plan in advance if you want to use this service)
